Instructions for treatment of products from natural leather and fur
General instructions
Leather as a natural material has characteristic features as color nuances, miniature scars, scratches, wrinkles miscellaneous grain side drawings etc. All these characteristic features emphasize natural character of leather and underline its authenticity.
Because of its originality every kind of leather needs individual treatment and this depends on the way of processing as well as on the purpose of use.
Regular products care according to producer's instructions is saving product's beauty, utility and period of service. Natural fur products lifetime depends also on the way of its usage.
Regular treatment of the product according to the instructions keeps its functionality, beauty and prolongs its durability. Durability of product from natural leather depends also on the way of use.
When wearing products from natural leather and fur it is important to prevent them from long lasting effect of rain and snow, heavy dirt, grease stains, scratching the grain side or forced tearing.
Therefore it is important to keep to the instructions for treatment which are attached to the products and follow the symbols which are on sewed in label. It is our desire that our products serve to our customers to their full satisfaction. Therefore it is important to keep certain principles:
- Dry damp leather or fur product loosely hung on a shaped hanger at room temperature. Never dry them in the sun or near a heater!
- Never use chemical solutions nor diluents (petrol, acetone etc.) for removing dirt.
- Prevent product from direct long lasting effect of sun, its color may suffer (the sun light does not harm when product is worn ordinarily).
- In case you need to store product for a longer period of time it is suitable to put it in an airy textile pack. Store products closed on shaped hangers. When storing the products need enough space in order their shape would not suffer.
Use and treatment of products from velour
- At the beginning of using the products from velour there may be some releasing of graining dust remainder. That does not mean color fading.
- Initially do not wear light color clothes (blouses, shirts, pullovers)under the velour products.
- Rain drop or snow marks and blocked velour hair dry thoroughly and then brush in all directions with soft crepe brush by which you at the same time remove dust.
- Very dirty places (around pockets, sleeves and collars) can be cleaned by soft crepe brush or can be rubbed by rubber for leather.
Use and treatment of products from smooth leather (napa)
- Dirty spot can be wiped by moist cloth soaked in soap solution. However leather must not soak with water!
- In case, that light stains after precipitated fat appear on napa leather, these can be removed by silicon oil.
- In case of light color leather or differently processed leathers do not use oil!
Use and treatment of products from semi aniline and aniline leathers
- Semi aniline and aniline leathers do not have covering finish. They are finished with a thin layer of color or are not colored or fixed at all. Grain side is finished by wax, which gives it unique, very pleasant touch with waterproof effect.
- In case of water stains formation they can be removed by rubber for leather.
- Scratch marks need to be rubbed by hand.
- Dirty linings from dust (sleeves, collars) are to be cleaned by rubber for leather, grease stains will wear off.
- When wearing leather confection it gains light patina, especially aniline and semi aniline leathers, therefore it is not needed to clean it so often.
Treatment of extremely dirty products
- It is possible to remove grease and oil from velour products with chalk or magnesia powder, which is spread on in thick layer and let it effect for 24 hours. Then it is needed to shake it off, blow and brush. In case of heavier dirt it is possible to repeat the process.
- Stains from sugar must be wiped by moist cloth soaked in warm water and then wiped until dry.
Light color products require special care. More frequent treatment (also in the course of season) and thriftier handling is needed.
Products from leather or fur can be dry cleaned however they have special symbols for treatment. Other products can be cleaned only in specialized dry cleaners, having special technical equipment for cleaning such products.
